What Stick Does Nathan MacKinnon Use?
Currently in the midst of what might end up being his best season yet, leading the league in points with 75 through 49 games, Nathan MacKinnon looks primed to lead his Colorado Avalanche towards the playoffs and will be aiming to lead them back to Lord Stanley after their Stanley Cup victory in the 2021-2022 season.
If you didn’t know, Nate has been testing different sticks and stick brands this season and for the majority of this year has been using Bauer sticks with a retail Nexus Sync graphic. Now mix that in with the uptick in all black Bauer sticks we’ve seen this year and we get ourselves a 2N Pro XL with a Black Sync graphic on it from the man himself, Nathan Mackinnon. We did a video feature on both Nate and Ovi switching to Bauer sticks, and both have definitely been steering clear of their old CCM models this year, which is a pretty big deal for two of the biggest names in the sport.
As Nate moved away from CCM this year we noticed a few spec changes come with that. We used to get P71 95 flex CCM sticks from him but he has since dropped some flex going with an 87 here from Bauer and also using the classic P92 curve.
Another cool feature that gives this stick some personality is the black spray paint on the bottom. It really only covers the hosel, not the blade and is an interesting choice. Nate also uses black tape on his stick so he was truly going for an all black look it seems.
