What Stick Does Vince Dunn Use?
Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn has established himself as a stalwart in Seattle since being selected in the Expansion Draft. Already a Stanley Cup champ from his time in St Louis, Dunn has led the Kraken in ice time this year and appears like he'll be a top pairing NHL D-Man for a many years to come.
Dunn's specs are as simple as they get: P29 curve, 85 flex on a stock height stick with a traditional shaft and standard grip. A four digit ID Code is pretty rare to see these days, as is reaching version V09. Based on that, it's pretty clear that Dunn has made only minor changes to his specs since his Junior days, which may just be as simple as updating the graphic a couple of times. With rumours that CCM is no longer producing sticks with old graphics for pros, we wonder how much longer his stockpile will last before he needs to update to a newer paint job.
It seems like Dunn's resistance to change isn't limited to sticks: like many pros, he still uses CCM HGCL (CrazyLite) gloves and a V08 helmet, which have both been around longer than Dunn has been in the NHL. Once again, a classic case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
